From the anemometer on the yard arm to the pitomeler log in the bilges, from the anchor windlass to the stern light, you will Dlld lC's, and ElVI,s working on their circuits and equipment. The Electrician's Mates maintain the main generators and the distribution system. The , Bremerton's 3500 kilo-watt capacity could easily supply power to 4100 homes. The direct current electricial systems of the ship's boats, searchlights, and ordnance are also the EM's responsibility as well as innumerable auxiliary motors and lighting circuits. The Interior Communications Elect- ricians maintain the ship's two gyrocom- passes, a 200 line dial telephone system, motion picture equipment, synchro data circuits and numerous sound powered tele- phone circuits. The men of Echo Division also provide many services ranging from fixing that bulk- head fan, desk lamp or coke machine to providing lighting and sound effects for stage productions on the fantail, and dressing the ship in lights so that Bremerton stands out proudly in any harbor.
