The signal gang is composed of 16 signalmen, Who in a whirl of flags, and use of signal lights, transmit and receive all visual messages addressed to and from the ship. The signal gang is a part of the Communications Department, and is under the cognizance of LT Dix and ENS Billingsley. Under the supervision of the leading signalman, each man is trained in his individual job. These johs, performed Well and efliciently, are the basis for that high standard of performance that Bremer- ton is so Well known for today.
