They also maintain and repair the electronic test equipment required for maintenance of this equipment. Their equipment is scattered throughout the ship. That's why you may see an ET anywhere from the top of a mast, swinging by a safety belt, to the air-conditioned comfort of CIC in the heart of the ship. They are on call 24 hours a day and missing chow, sleep or a movie is all in a days work.
