From sunrise until sunset we held drills for this was Refresher Training, a course every ship must pass after coming out of overhaul. From December 2 through 7, we operated out of the San Diego area. During this week of tests our battle efficiency was observed by a group of officers and men of the Refresher Training Group from the San Diego Naval Training center. Battle problems were conducted to see if we were ready for our WestPac cruise, questions asked to see if we knew what to do when the chips were down. And we were ready!
