I 'A GENERAL STAlFlF MR. IAS. G. HARRELL, e leading Brecken- ridge attorney-at-law, became a member of the present board in 19385 was elected president soon afterward, and has served very competently and intelligently as leader to the present time. MR. B. C. MORGAN, Vice-president, was elected to the board in 1938. He is the local manager of the WF. 6- S. Railway Company. His business experience and general interest in public affairs have made him a levelheaded board member. MR. I. A. BATES, local manager of the Lone Star Gasoline Company, became a mem- ber oi the board in 1934 and has the longest continuous service record of any of the present members. His daughter in East Ward sees that he takes an active interest in all school affairs.. MR. C. I. O'CONNOR, attorneyot-law and rancher, was elected as a member of the board in 1938. He has always taken an active interest in the operation of the schools and is keen-ly interested in them and in the schooling of his younger daughter, a student in junior high. MR. W. I. RHODES, independent oil opera- tor, became a member of the board in 1939. His only question concerning any matter that comes up in board meetings is What is best for the school? With this principle in mind he votes his intelli- gent opinion on the subject at hand. MR. C. K. WEST, an independent oil opera- tor and president of the Chemical Process Company, came on the board in 1938. He has a double reason for being inter- ested in school affairs-a daughter in South Ward and also one in lunior High. This interest is manifested helpfully in every matter that comes before the board. MR. I. Q. CORBETT, rancher and feeder of fine cattle, is the newest member of the board, having been appointed in 1941. His previous experience as a board mem- ber in Caddo and his interest in his youngest son, a member of the 1942 win- ning Buckaroo football team, make him a valuable board member. MR. C. W. WULFIEN, secretary of the board, is also the assessor and collector of taxes for the Breckenridge Schools. He is looking forward to the time when he will have a very personal interest in South Ward in the person of his small son.
