Class Mistery We, the class of 1961, began our high school career with a class of seventy-five members. Our officers were: President - Douglas Smith: Vice President - Rachel Brown: Secretary - Ada Marcelle; Treasurer - Robert Steele. Grace Dennehey and Douglas Smith were chosen as Student Council represent- atives. Class advisors were Mrs. Clifford, Mr. Barker, and Mr. Lewis. After participating in the traditional Freshman Initiation early in October 1957, we proudly became full-fledged members of Brandon High School, and we quickly settled down and looked anxiously forward to four years of work and fun together. Dues for the year were $2.50, and to increase our funds, we sponsored a successful spring dance. Mrs. Clifford and Mr. Shea were the class advisors during our sophomore year. Douglas Smith was re-elected class president, and Thomas Beauregard was chosen vice-president. Grace Dennehey became secretary, and Char- lotte Fisk was elected treasurer. The Student Council representatives were Grace Dennehey and Barbara Kapitan. Class activities this year were the Harvest Dance held in October and two food sales held in the winter and spring. The class rings we ordered at the end of the year were expected to arrive early the next fall. At the beginning of our junior year we elected the following officers: President - Barbara Kapitan; Vice President - Thomas Beauregard; Secretary - Grace Dennehey; Treasurer - Bruce Young. For Student Council represent- atives we elected Rosalind Baker and Gisele Leduc. The activities this year were the annual Ham Supper, two food sales, and a three-act play, In 25 Words - Or Death, which was directed by Mr. and Mrs. Barna. An Even- ing In Hawaii was the theme of our junior prom held May 20, 1960. On the day of the dance the gym was very convincingly converted into a serene and fragrant tropical island complete with palm trees, pineapples, fish nets, flowers, and a grass and wooden throne for the king and queen. The Men of Note from the University of Vermont provided music for the occasion. Class advisors for the year were Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Clifford, Mr. Barna, and Mr. Shea. Beginning our final year at B.H.S., we elected the following officers: President - Barbara Kapitan; Vice President - Thomas Beauregard; Secretary Rosalind Baker; Treasurer - Donna Wetmore. Lynn Marsette and Bruce Young were the Student Council representatives. On December 9th and 10th, we presented the play, January Thaw, which was directed by Mr. and Mrs. Barna. The success of the production made worthwhile all the hours of work put in by the cast, the Barnas, and all those who helped in making the play as excellent as it was. Class advisors through the 1960-1961 school year were Mrs. Barna, Miss Force and Mr. Kelley.

DAN PIERCE now owns a chain of hotels across the country, but, as he finds this does not keep him busy enough, he teaches U.S. History at the Otter Valley Union High School. As editor of the New York Times, SIMONE RACINE writes a column, How to get an A in Every Subject. DAVID SENECAL has started smoking cigars so he can take over the Groucho Marx show when Groucho retires. DONALD SEVERY is desperately trying to cross macaroni and spaghetti to produce a new produce called macasparoni. RITA SEVERY was last heard from as she wandered through the Sahara Desert looking for No Man’s Land. JUDY SMITH is running the Flying T-Bird” garage at 11 Carver Street. BOB STEELE is taking over the Superman show on T. V., but he just can’t seem to get off the ground. HERM WAGNER, unable to stand another Yankee loss, decided the biggest contribution he could make to the team would be to join the Pirates. The last heard from BRUCE WARNER was in science class. Bruce was tipping back in his chair when a voice echo- ed OUT! The weak reply was, Please, Mr. Barna, I don’t wanna go! BETTY WETMORE is teaching foreign dances at an Arthur Murray studio in New York City. Her specialty is the Russian Beryozka Dance. DONNA WETMORE is chief weight lifter at the Rutland Circus. TOM WHALEN fulfilled his ambition to make history and is the first priest to come out of Brandon -- with a beard. After divorcing four husbands, JUDY WILLETTE still isn't satisfied and plans another trip to Reno soon. After a long talk with Miss Force, NICKY WILLETT decided to continue his education and has now reached his goal as president of Harvard University. They say that BONNIE WIMETT has married her one and only, ” and together they are managing the Lake Dunmore Hotel. SARAH WISELL is now running Wisell’s Maroon and Grey Store, ” instead of Wisell's Red and White Store. BRUCE YOUNG is in Alcatraz serving the remainder of his fifteen year prison sentence for embezzlement of the Orwell Bank.
