Class History We, the Class of '56 began our high school career with Mr. Ross as our class advisor. In October we became full-fledged members of Brandon High, after participating in Freshman Reception. On September 15, we elected the following class officer s: President-- Donald Welch; Vice President-Sally Sargent; Secretary--Pearl McKeighan; Treasurer--Robert Forguites; and Student Council Representative-- Charles Farrell. Mr. Arnold was our Sophmore Class Advisor, and we also added four new members: Francena Billings, EdwaLrd Darling, Charlotte Greeno, and Carl Smith. We elected the following class officers: President--Douglas Philipsen; Vice President--Brenda Whittaker; Secretary--Pearl McKeighan; Treasurer--Lorna Ricard; and Student Council Representative--Sally Sargent. For money making activities we sponsored a Christmas Dance, three food sales, and a buffet supper. We started our Junior Year by electing the following officers: President—Douglas Philipsen; Vice President--Brenda Whittaker; Sec- retary--Eleanor Dundon; Treasurer--Lorna Ricard; and Student Council Representative--Sally Sargent. Mr. Fay and Mrs. Young were our class advisors. Seven new members from Orwell enlarged our class. During this year, we sponsored these successful activities: food sale, buffet supper, Christmas Dance, Junior Prom, and the play, MY THREE ANGELS, under the direction of Mr. Arnold. In May, we took over the Senior Store. We began our Senior Year by the election of the following officers: President--Douglas Philipsen; Vice President--Charles Farrell; Secretary- Eleanor Dundon; Treasurer—Lorna Ricard; Student Council Represent- atives--Kathleen Donovan and Cynthia Severy; Yearbook Editor--Lance Bird Business Manager--Robert Forguites; and Assistant Business Manager-- Sally Sargent. We held a very successful Christmas Card Sale, our Class Play, THE NIGHT OF JANUARY 16th, under the direction of Mr. Arnold, and a One-Act Play Contest. Preparations are now under way for our Graduation Exercises and Graduation week.
