Being the recipient of a diploma is one of life's many rewarding experiences, but there is an inherent danger that often accrues to these diplomas - the feeling that this is the terminal point of education. Our expanding economy and highly specialized society not only afford numerous opportunities for advancement and education, but a stronger America actually demands that each citizen avail himself of these advantages. By continuing the processes of education and self-improvement you will be achieving two things; helping yourself to fulfill the unique functions in life that are required in your daily living, and contributing your special skills to a better and greater America. Sincerely yours, Thomas J. Whalen, Principal Editorial Brandon High School will leave with us many pleasant memories as we start a new life. Many of us will go to college and follow courses corresponding with our occupational desires. Others will take jobs and begin climbing the ladder to success. We will always remember our swell classmates and our fine teach- ers who never tired of rendering their help to us. We are very proud to have been a part of Brandon High School. Hayes. Sargent, Bird. Varsity basketball The 1955-56 Basketball Bisons carried the most potent scoring punch Brandon has seen in fourteen years, winning more games and making the first tournament appearance for the red and grey since 1942. Not only did the Varsity lead the M. V. L. in team scoring and foul shooting percentage, but in winning ten of the last four- teen games Dave Center set a new school and league scoring record, and was selected on the All-Tourney Team for his tournament efforts. He and teammate Charlie Memoe were picked for the All-League Team by the coaches of the M. V. L. With four starters returning next year it should be another successful season at B. H. S. Coach G. M.
