They play today never thinking of tomorrow. As they mature they become more conscious of passing minutes- The older they become the more time can be seen in their faces. As soon as the sun penetrates the morning fog, there is not enough time in the day. The hours appear to shorten until at last, they’re gone completely. u time and time and time and time time out and time and time and SUPERINTENDANT OF SCHOOLS Dear Graduates, You have grown in knowledge and understanding. You have perservered to the end. May you continue to be faithful In the things you do, doing what you ought and putting yourself into what you are doing, so that your future may be even more fruitful than has been your past. Peace always. HEADMASTER I imagine it was with mixed emotions that you began this your final year at Braintree High School. You undoubtedly looked foreward to it for so long - and now the end is here. For some it hasn’t come soon enough, for others the pangs of finishing High School are felt. The school has with varying degree provided you with the basic tools of learning and knowledge, so that now you may assume your adult role in our society. There is no easy way to success. You will get from life only what you put in. Do not be satisfied with less than your best. Qx t). The winner of the grand prize of $1000, and the Father Thomas Tierney Trophy for the most outstanding float in the Quincy Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 1, 1974, was the Norfolk County- Newton Lung Association float, designed and constructed by the Braintree High School Environmental Design class, under the direction of their instructor, Theodore P. Ek. The float was more than 60 feet long and featured a 14 - foot high snowman which turned around, with his head also turning separately, made entirely out of Kleenex. The snowman was holding the traditional double - barred Christmas seal cross and wore a big yellow scarf with a bright red Christmas seal on it. There was a large paper mache seal on the front of the float, arranged in a mantle of Kleenex. On the back of the float were members of the BHS band, playing Christmas carols. Along the sides of the float were 29 three foot wide hand - painted scenes from 1974 Christmas seals. The cab of the truck was transformed into a train engine. Including the pupils in the Environmental Design class, there were 15 people who combined efforts to create the grand - prize winning float. Th e $1000 prize was given to the Norfolk County - Newton Lung Association for their continuing work in helping people. I This year’s production, Cheaper by the Dozen, concerned the problems of a large family living in the 1920’s. The many— childrened house provided comic scenes of family life. The production gave the Drama Club a new theatrical experience; the construction of a realistic set. This artistic accomplishment achieved success under the direction of its designer and executor, Rick Walsh. The objective of the Future Medical Club is to help students decide in which field of the medical profession they are interested. Members participate in field trips, raising money for scholarships, group lectures and discussions, and helping others. I The Future Teachers Organization is a group of students who intend to pursue the 1 study of education. The students acquaint themselves with the field of teaching 1 through field trips and classroom experiences. i FUTURE MEDICAL CLUB FUTURE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY KEY CLUB SKI CLUB The Ski Club is the largest club In the school with an average of 180 to 200 students. The club elects officers who plan the various outings. Each day trip is planned so that the club will go to a different ski area. There is a weekend trip at the height of skiing season to a well- known ski area. There is a great deal of enthusiasm in the Ski Club. Once a month the Hiking Club takes a trip, exploring trails in this area and when possible, further north into New Hampshire. HIKING CLUB FRENCH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY K “ mV T K, • 7 M c. y u The French National Honor Society is, as the name implies, a club whose membership is limited to students who excel in French and also do well in other academic subjects. The club endeavors to encourage more interest in the study of French through such activities as field trips to French restaurants, French films, and French- speaking cities such as Quebec. FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB FUTURE SECRETARIES The purpose of the FSA is to bring to the student a better understanding of the business world as well as to develop a recognition of the importance of desirable work habits, attitudes and responsibilities. Through various speakers, field trips and actual short term office experience, the student becomes better acquainted with the profession. A scholarship fund is made available through monies raised during the year to be given to a deserving member selected by fellow members. A dinner culminates the activities of the year. LIBRARY AIDES NURSES AIDES OFFICE STAFF ■I The few, but integral, functions of the Math Club revolve around the proliferation of mathematics at B.H.S. The primary function of the club is fielding a team to compete in the Greater Boston Mathematics League, but in recent years, it has expanded its activities and now sponsors a yearly Math Bowl, bringing good crowds to B.H.S. MATH The Distributive Education Clubs of America, of which our D.E.C.A. is a chapter, is a nationwide organization of students of merchandising and marketing. It holds yearly, local.
