Sophomore . . . first election of class officers . . . sophomores on varsity football . . . first social event, Sophomore Social with its theme of spring — the gayest dance of the season. Junior ... a really great year! . . . buying class rings with Indian head insignia . . . the honor of having our own Margie Rush elected Queen of the Mardi Gras . . . the sponsoring of the annual oper- etta, Flying Down to Carmelita,” which earned us a neat little sum . . . the season ’s biggest social event, Junior Prom, where our theme led us to be- lieve we were dancing underwater and to top our nautical evening — dinner at Hugo’s Lighthouse . . . the election of Carole Gnecco to Girls’ State and of Garner McNett and Sandy Carnathan to Boys’ State.
