Jolly Juniors is beginning to be a class-

their part in keeping that phrase true.
The class as a whole was very active, many
being in the band, .glee clubs, football
squad, basketball, track, -or declamation
or dramatics.
The class officers were elected at the
first class meeting of the year, held un-
der the ,direction of Miss 'Campbell and
Mr. Nicholas. The class elected hy popular
vote:
Bob Seeds, President.
Earnest Linden, Vice President.
Bob Halock, Secretary-Treasurer.
Earnest Linden and Lola Mae Turner to
the Student Council.
The Juniors -came through well at
Carnival Time with Helen Phelps and
Francis Masterson as nominees for Queen
and King but bitter rivals, -the Seniors
came thro-ugh and took the title but we
have hopes for next year. Beside the
King and Queen the Junior girls spon-
sored the Dance Hall and Fortune Telling
booths, while the Junior boys had Spill the
Milk. The Juniors also won the prize for
the vbicycle float held during .the halves
of the homecoming ga-me.
The class was Well represented in dra-
matics with Dan 'McKean and Carol Velde
in "The Patsy." .Holton Rosenquist in the
Carnival -play "Mountain Laurel" and Dan
McKean, Earnest Linden, Heyle Taylor,
Leo Fuertges and Glenn Iloder in "Dress
Reversal."
In athletics the class had several let-
termen: Dan M-cKean, Dick Herder, Jack

and Jack Hannon were elected co-captains
of next year's football tea-m.
Earnest Linden, Glenn Ioder, Gertrude
Swearingen, Cecile Ames, Gayle Ames,
Lillian Webber and Cleo Kopp represent-
ed the school in commercial work.
Out of the class there were several in
declamatory work: Carol Velde, Cecile
Ames, Mark Turner, Leland Wright,

ney.
