The "Jolly Juniors" started out the year by electing as president, Delight Reed: vice president, Bertram Hickeyg secretary-treas- urer, Lois Gubbins and the student council members, Genevieve Hall and Warren Hal- lock. After being in all-school plays, contests. selling candy, sponsoring parties, entering athletics and many other activities, which made up the school year, we will be headed for the last and most important year of all as seniors. The big event of the year towards which we work so faithfully, the much discussed Junior-Senior banquet certainly went over with a "bang". Even though we slaved for many weeks, we were repaid for the amount of labor that was put into it. Some of the juniors tried out for the first all-chool play. Those who took part in "Big Time" were, Lois Gubbins, Eugene Piper, Bim Tumbleson, Delight Reed and others had a part in a doll scene. Those who took part in "The Cuckoo's Nest" were, Bim Tumbleson and Alfred Wolfe. Gertrude Briggs, student director and Merlin Clausen, stage manager, assisted Miss Heetland. The boys were active in sports, with many out for basketball, track and football. Eu- gene Piper is the captain of next year's foot- ball team. The junior boys won the boys basketball class tournament. The girls, as well as the boys, were active in basketball. Believe it or not, the junior girls won the class tournament, too. Although we have one more year left in high school We are going to make the most out of it in fun as well as hard work.

At the first class meeting supervised by the class advisors, Miss Heetland and Mr. Clark, the following officers were elected: President, Jane Owens. Vice President, Tom Landes. Secretary-Treasurer, Patricia Moran. Student Council Members. Camilla Kelly. Kenneth Johnston. Shirley Clausen and Bill Code were elect- ed home room presidents. From our ranks Mary Dorothy McLane and Lynn Velde were elected to reign as Queen and King of the carnival. Our stage stunt won second pl'ace in the contest held on this occasion. We were shipwrecked with the freshmen on October 8, 1936. when we sponsored a. shipwreck party for them. This courtesy was returned by a St. Valentine party which we greatly appreciated. Our all-school Christmas party was enjoyed by every one who attended it. Bill Code lived up to the expectations of Santa Claus by distributing candv fruits and gifts to the guests. The country school program added greatly to the spice of the evening. The majority of the sophomore class is interested in dramatics, and results show in the fact that many of us were chosen for the casts of the three act and one-act plays. We have an interested group among the rleclamatory entrants. Inside many of the black sweaters with big orange B's you will find sophomore boys. The letters were earned in football. basketball and track. Throughout the year the Sophomores were well represented on the honor roll.
