HJ Q1 Q 'Q' Dedication We, the Seniors of 1963, wish to dedicate this edition of THE BEACON to Mrs. Tuck, in appreciation of her guidance and encourage- ment as our sponsor during our first three years in high school, From the beginning she called us hers and always found time to listen to our problems. Her patience with our mis- takes, her understanding of our weaknesses, and her willingness in helping us have kept us working toward our goal of graduation. By dedlcatlng the 1963 BEACON to you, Mr. Denning, we hope to show our apprecia- tion to you for the good things you have done for us. By being the person you are, you have helped us to face our responsibilities. You have inspired an interest in us which has caused us to achieve goals we thought beyond our reach. Your faith in us and your diligent work have helped to bring some of our dreams true. l 2 Bradford Board of Education J. D. McCARTNEY, Chm. ROY F. GREEN, Sec. BILLY PIERCE B. M. PATTERSON, Sr. PAUL OVERTON JESSE BAKER We, the BEACON STAFF, salute the members of the City Board of Education, whose untiring efforts and strong wills have made our school a better and more outstanding place of learning. Here is a story told in pictures-the way we worked, played, and lived at Bradford High School. THE SENIOR CLASS OF '63 QXQZU WXQLKQM Editor Our Principal RUSSELL R. TUCK Bradford Schools have enrolled a total of 732 pupils to date. This is a decrease of thirteen pupils from last yearg however, our first grade's enrollment shows a substantial increase. We think that our town can be proud of the fact that we have remained a Grade A High School in view of the strict requirements of the State Department of Education. Our Departments which compete with other West Ten- nessee Schools-namely, Agriculture, Athletics, Commercial, Home Economics, Mathematics, and Science-have indeed given a good account of themselves during the past year. ln view of our heavy losses to graduation last year, 1 believe that our basketball teams have done exceedingly well. Our girls, team has a 12-10 record, and our boys' team has a 19-5 record. I call our boys, team the 'cSurprise Team of 1963? Student Office Workers Helen Mullins, Carol Patterson, Browning.
