They Clean and They Cook Pausing a moment before they begin their day's work are top to bottom: Pedro Lopez, Mike G. Melia, William C. Chandler, Rudulfo L. Gonzales, Toribio V. Guerrera, Joe R. Sanchez, Herman Muenchow, Ora Lee Scott, and Lucy Lee Riley. Repairing b r o k e n equipment, testing the many radiators, and sweeping the long halls of Brackenridge High School were some of the many jobs of the custodians. Many times students took for granted the fact that these jobs were done and gave little thought to the people who were really responsible. They have worked to keep the campus around Brackenridge beautiful and to keep the buildings clean at all times. These employees were on duty for almost twenty-four hours a day. As the bell sounded for the dismissal of school, their jobs just bega:n. Wearing the badge of a dusty mop and completing assignments with a big smile, this needed force was on duty throughout the year. Mr. Herman Muenchow Head Custodian
