S-,Nga A . r , lx, Football On December first, that fighting team Of Brackcnridge Hi met their old rivals, Main Avenue, and were overwhelmed By the worst loss of points which Brackenridge Has ever forfeited to a Main team. The Game, although attaining a large score, Was a real football game nevertheless. The Eagles threw a scare into the Buffaloes for the first half. After Bardwell had raced 40 yards for the First Buffalo tally, Whitney reeled off 92 yards, behind perfect interference, On the kick-off for the only marker the Eagles gained. Bardwell played havoc Behind the heavier and experienced Line of the Buffaloes. The Eagles never quit Fighting. They attempted to score via The aerial route, but their passes Were either blocked, or intercepted. Football The Austin High Maroons invaded The Eagles, nest, but were turned baek By a lieart-breaking 10-7 defeat. The Maroons literally showered the Eagles with passes for substantial gains. The Austin bunch seored early in the First quarter by a series of brilliant passes. In the last eight minutes of play, the Eagles' desire to defeat the Maroons For the fifth successive year led them To launeh a terrifie drive. Successive Runs by Connie Smith and Gil Pyka Carried the ball to scoring distance. A Pass from Gil Pyka to C. Flinn netted The first rally. After another series O 1' runs, a long pass from Pyka to Frost plaeed the hall on Austinis 20 yard line. With but one play left In the game, U. D. Out of the small array of talent a Few scrappy fighters, such as Walter Roley, Ed Hill, Ned Robertson, and i'Nando Vargas were produced. In the games with Beeville, Taft, And Pleasanton, the kittens were Overwhclmed by top-heavy scores. They tied the heavy Sidney Lanier Vocational team.
