Boys Town athletes also were busy competing in swimming and wrest- ling meets. The swimming team. the defending Xe- braska State High School Champion. competed in twelve dual meets during the regular season. and came away with a fine record of eight wins. three losses and one tie. At the 'end of the season the Cowboy swimmers completely dominated the field in the Omaha Tech High Invitational. winning it for the fifth consecutive time. The swinnners closed their season with a line second-place showing in the Nebraska State Meet. Jim Anderson won the State Crown in the 100 Yard Backstroke. The Boys Town wrestling team for the second year in a row lost only twodual meets. both of the losses again came at the hands of the repeat State Champion. Omaha South. The Cowboy season re- cord showed twelve wins. two losses and one tie. The wrestlers ended the season with a fine second- place finish in the Nebraska State Tournament. Stoffel, Jr. Wlith the end of the winter sports. the Cowboy athletes turned their attention to competition in the three spring sports. baseball. track and tennis. At this time the baseball team has played eight games and has a record of four wins and four losses. This year the Cowboys are competing in the newly formed Nebraska-lowa High School Baseball League. Still in the future is the District play-oil to determine the right to compete in the State Baseball Tournament. The track team has competed in seven meets and has shown some great potential. The track squad for the most part is a young team and one that should develop into one of Boys Townis finest. The Cowboy runners are preparing for District and State Meet competition that still lies ahead. The tennis team has almost completed a tough eleven dual meet schedule. At this point the season record shows four wins and four losses. The tennis players are also preparing for their State Tourna- ment.
