7fze Made le lineal' Every Boys Town citizen is given ample op- portunity to participate in the music program. If he has the desire and ability to sing, he may join one of the three choirs. Experience in the Chantel and Repertoire choirs may qualify the boy for participation in the Concert Choir, which last Fall concertized from coast to coast. The boy who wants to play an instrument has limitless opportunities for both group and in- dividual study. Marching and Concert Bands operate on high school and grade school level and more than a third of Boys Townls young men play band instruments. A sizable group of boys study string instruments. Piano and organ are studied privately by several dozen boys, Whose daily practice periods culminate in an animal recital. Even the boys who do not perform any of these varied musical skills have the opportunity to participate as spectators when the music De- partment presents concerts by such famed artists as the Roger XVagner Chorale, the Little Singers of Paris, the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, the University of Nebraska Symphony, the Santa Cecilia Choir of Rome and the world renowned Belgian organist, Flor Peeters. Seated: Paul Sing, Frank Szynskie, Norbert Letter, Mrs. Gertrude Plcwa. Standing: Carolton Bleick, Louis Pisciotta, James Bell, Ira George, Carl Lyon.
