Easkeihztll 13 HIS year was really the first season that a Dunham basketball team W N was orgamzed under scheduled play A very heavy schedule of f seventeen contests was played and the results of the qutnt campalgn q lg constderlng that the past wmter marked the debut of the Latlnlsts ln the basketball world were most successful Nine COHHICIS were won whtle elght games were dropped largely to more experlenced comblnattons The brlght ltghts of the season were the two Donaldson games the two Park School contests the two Frrends conflrcts and the last McDonogh battle The work of the team greatly lmproved towards the latter part of the season and because of th1s splendld showmg the Latm qumtet wxll try to land a place rn the mterscholastxc league for next year two boys carrled the brunt of the Dunham attack scormg over half of the team s total 391 pomts The fact that letters were awarded to the drtbblers deslgnates the court game as a major sport at Dunham s Those who received letters are Capt Cnbbs Penrose Cteorge Dowell Bus Whltman Howdy Myers Cabbage Darrell Alvm Long ,lean Phxlbm and Manager Bob Dob b1n At a meetmg following the final contest the letter men elected Howdy Myers captam for next year whrle Austln el Lllly vsas chosen as manager The school was most fortunate rn securrng Mr lehland A Graham a P A L man and formerly from Sprlngfleld to coach the squad He worked extremely hard for us and created a commendable fave from comparattyely green materral We truly hope that he vstll be yuth the team next year We sm cerely belreve that the basketball team of next year vytll enyoy a most success ful campatgn under the captuncy of Hou dy Myers and the managershlp of Austm l 1lly I rue D e , W LT . l .
