VC-Il, the uguppyn squadron, had the monotonous, but exacting, job ot covering the Task Force area on anti- submarine patrol. Continuous cover had to be maintained around the clock and meant long, hard hours For the maintenance crews, trying to keep their Few planes in a flying status at all times. Keeping constant vigilance was no easy task when these planes and their crews were responsible For the safety ot an entire Task Force, even though it might seem little more than just another Four hour watch to the uninitiated. VC-Ilis perliormance during the past cruise was most commendable, and all who were on the line owe it a vote of thanks For it's ceaseless vigil which gave us that lieeling ol: security in troubled waters.
