The Fire Control Function ol: the F division is charged with care, maintenance, upkeep and operation ol: the ship's gun Fire control systems. This includes not only the gun directors, radars and computers, but also the automatic controls, the Firing circuits, the Fuse settings and the gun train and elevation signals sent to all mounts. The required constant adjusting and regulating necessary to maintain the high degree oi: precise accuracy long accepted as Fleet standards is carried out and can be a matter oi: personal pride For those in the l: division. The supervision ot the stowage of the magazines, the below decks breakout ot all aircraft ordnance and it's transfer to the third deck assembly areas twas accomp- lished by the ship's armory crew, who are also responsible For all the ammunition For the ship's guns, all the small arms on board and the care and upkeep ot all magazines. Two traditional duties are the Furnishing ot the Guard Mail petty officers For the handling ol: the ship's classified mail. And, as all men who were assigned t Shore Patrol duty can rememeber, the ship's armory Furnished brassards, night sticks and duty belts. Typ' g, Filing and maintaining the reports, logs, histories, and the like, ot guns, tire control equipment, side c aning and all special reports submitted by the Gunnery Department and First Lieutenant is the work completed by the yeomen ol: the department. Assigned to the Opticalmen aboard is the repairs, care and upkeep ol: the gun sights, range Finders and binoculars. Condition III watches will be remembered by all men ol: the F division as the most continuing task ot the cruise.
