E-R DIVISION E-R division is responsibie primariIy For the upkeep and maintenance ot all shipboard air and surface search radar, transmitters and receivers, eiectronic navigationai aids, homing beacon devices, aeroIogicaI radio equipment and testigear. A duty which requires much time and ettort is the maintenance ot the ship's entertainment system-seven teIevision sets, a shipboard system oI3 speaker ampiimciers in berthing compartments, on I mess decks and other practicai quarters. To insure that all radar systems are working First rate means a preventive maintenance program that goes into aII phases of the systems thoroughiy and must be cIoseIy and methodicaIIy adhered to at all times. The eyes and ears oi: the ship must work QLL hours a day. AII test equipment is periodicaIIy I caiibrated, tested and checked out under actual operating conditions.
