A DIVISION A division plays an important part in the upkeep and operation ol: the BOXER. It has working and machinery spaces From the torecastle to the I:antaiI, From the keel to the top ol: the stack. With each movement ol: aircraft between decks, elevator machinery spaces are manned. Wide uses ol: compressed air throughout the ship, too numerous to men- tion, is a division responsibility. Many pieces ol: hydraulic equipment are maintainedg the Diesel Gang man the equipment tor two generators to supply lighting and power in case ol: Failure ol: the main steam generators. Ship's boats are kept operable by the Deisel Gang. Steam heat, air conditioning, the scuttlebutt repairman and reelfer gang are all members of this smooth running organization. A well Iaid out machine shop can handle a great variety ol: machine shop work. The tool room personnel work hand in hand with the ditterent divisions by issuing various tools and supplies as needed or required.
