Air lntelligence collects and disseminates intelligence intormation regarding the current military situation. Working together with other Intelligence agencies throughout the theater ot operations, Air intelligence maintains up-to-date information regarding enemy installations and movements, keeps pilots currently advised as to the situation over the target . ln close relation with AI is Photo Interpretation, where all reconnaissance photography is screened For intelligence data. Preparing target mosaics tor pilot use in locating lucrative targets is another Function ot Photo lnterp. The Photographic Laboratory is primarily concerned with the production ot reconnaissance photography, processing all Film exposed by cameras in the photo planes and distributing prints From there throughout the Task Force. Photo personnel are also engaged in photographing, in movies and stills, the various phases ot shipboard operations and personnel activities. The majority ol: the pictures appearing in this cruise book were made From otticial U. S. Navy photographs produced by personnel attached to the ship's laboratory. All administrative attairs in the Operations Department, as well as tasks tor the diticerent divisions, including assembly and distribution ol: the daily Flight plan, are handled by the Operation's Office personnel.
