Uma E CLASS OF '53 Well Seniors, you're leaving to be on your own To reap the harvest of seeds here you've sown A new world awaits your conquering hand Go meet the challenge-Defend your land. Each teacher you've had has in some small way Prepared you for things that you'll meet every day And as you recall all your high school years You'll cherish each memory with smiles and tears. They've striven to show you that all is not gay That the sad and the weary are part of the pay Remember each function in this part term How easy to play and row hard then to learn. Your chest swelled with pride at your Senior Peach Float And C. R. and Herb on the assembly still gloat At Christmas the quilt was an annual spree And a good deal of work there was done by Dixie.
