MRRDDN mm WHITE Among our most popular extra-curricular activities is the Maroon and White. It has furnished many moments of enjoyment for its subscribers, especially all the inside dope gathered by Ima Tattletale, the little gossip gremlin of the paper. RGHIEULTU E Qu. vii 75:1-.M ,- The Future Farmers of America is composed of high school boys interested in agri- culture. The National Emblem is made up of five symbols, the owl, the plow, and the rising sun, within the cross section of an ear of corn, which is surmounted by the American eagle. Upon the face of the emblem appear also the words HVocational Agriculture"and the letters NF. F. A.u The owl is symbolic of wisdom and knowledge, the plow is the symbol of labor and tillage of the soilg the rising sun is emblematic of progress and the new day that will dawn when all farmers are trained and have learned to cooperate, the cross section of an ear of corn represents common agricultural interests since corn is native to America and grown in every state, and the eagle is indicative of the nat- ional scope of the organization. The local officers are: Charles Whitehead, President, George Hoeldtke, Vice- Presidentg Melvin Tucker, Secretary, Joe Evans, Treasurer, T. A. Wiginton, Reporterg and Carol Bishop, Sentinel.
