At the '87 Homecoming Dance, stu- dents mingled with their friends, showed off their clothing, and danced to every type of music imaginable. As seen in the picture, many people at- tended the dance. As a tradition, band members parade through the halls on the last day of Homecoming Week. The bands trom- bone players lead the pack. 5-Qffgx Having fun is what Homecoming Week is all about. Sandra Ceniceros, Rosie Garcia, and Sylvia Ponce take advantage of it by dressing up as cavewomen and nerds. ol-'L-'zafi'-39 g-55:39 OPENINGXS

The traditional week for fun omans roamed the halls, pink and blue haired people walked the campus, and dirty people with bones in their hair looked for dinosaurs. No, this was not a scene from some kind of weird movie, but a scene from homecoming week. During homecoming, people dressed in imaginative costumes. Some dressed as their favorite rock star and others tried to look punk, many wore sheets over their bodies and some preferred the old, dirty look. This week was full of happiness for all. Girls anxiously waited for Friday to show off their corsages and announce to the world that they were going to homecoming. Everybody also looked forward to the dance after the game. Many freshmen participated in these events, they also had ideas to improve homecoming Week. Some wanted a disco to play throughout the week, a kissing booth, no classes to be held, and an Adam and Eve Day. llth grader, Sergio Cordova thought more people participated in these events this year, which of course, added to the spirit on campus. Other than dressing up in costume, there were other things that happened. For example, balloon grams were being distributed to students, there was a marriage booth, others were selling carnations, and small stuffed bears were on sale for anybody to buy. During school on Homecoming Friday, the band paraded through the halls, afterwards the students were let out of their classes for the pep rally. There the homecoming court was presented to the studentbody, the outstanding ex gave a speech, and each class showed how much spirit each had. Homecoming is a tradition brought to students by the people- from before and it is the students' job to keep the tradition going strong for years to come. 4fVlSIONS
