Well known artists came down for The El Paso Festival during the summer, among those was the ever so popular Sawyer Brown. Here they're showing the El Paso people what their music is all about. Working meant hard work for some but for others it meant dressing up and having a lot of fun. Carol Correa worked in Disneyland during the sum- mer as one of the Seven Dwarfsp here she is shown doing her stuff.

Visions of a year to remember he bell rang! Everybody rushed out the doors, school was out. The Class of '87 was done with, but on came the class of '88. No one thought of going back to school, only about what was to be done with the time given to them for their hard work. Of course, all they wanted to do was have FUN. Their summer started off with graduation parties. Everybody in school and some new faces to joined in the fun. Getting home late was popular among eve- rybody during the first couple of days after school was out. After these parties were done with, people started thinking of more ideas for fun and excitement. They, of course, had no problems finding places for these actions. Many headed for El Paso's number one beach Mountain Shadow Lakes. There they played vol- leyball, water skied, swam, got a tan, and met new people. Girls stared at the muscles on Boys. Boys gaped at the curves and pretty faces on girls. Every- body was having fun. Not everybody got to go to the beach. Instead they went to amusement parks such as Western Playland and Magic Landing. Many preferred going over to Anthony, New Mexico and get wet at Wet n' Wild. But many took vacations and traveled the country. Well known musicians came down to the path. Whitesnake and Motley Crue rocked the town with Still of the Night and Girls, Girls, Girls. People pushed and clawed to get in, to be close to the stage. The summer continued on and before you knew it the El Paso Festival was on the go. Bowie High School hosted the three day event. People from all over attended the festival. Different types of foods were being sold, rides and games were popular among everybody, different types of jewelry were on sale for everyone to buy, and, last but not least, music was offered. There was mexican, country, rock, and soul. The Four Tops dazzled the people with hits of the late 60's and early 70's, Sawyer Brown rocked the town with their country rock music, Charo showed off her figure in a couple of beautiful and elaborate dresses, and for the finale fireworks boomed for ev- eryone to see. Let' s not forget that wild and crazy town across the border, Juarez. Yes, people danced the night away, met people from all over, and had a great time. The summer was also filled with work for some. Many went out of town to work and some stayed here. Some worked in fast food restaurants, others worked in offices, and some in stores. Others preferred filling their heads with knowl- edge. Summer school was a must for some but for others it was only to get ahead in their classes. As the fun started to end, everybody headed for home. People woke up early in the morning to get ready for registration. Anxiously they waited to see who had lost weight and who had gained it, who had ended up with acne and who had cleared up. Pictures for graduation were also being taken at the same time as registration. The bell rang, everybody was on their way to class. Upperclassmen laughed at new and confused people. Everybody greeted everybody. Visions of a year to remember was about to begin. OPENING X3
