Lieutenant Commander Blo- meke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from the U. S. Naval Academy. He is a graduate of the Ciemian Armed forces Command and Staff College ln Hamburg, West Germany and the Defense Language Institute in Mon- terey, California. Lieutenant Commander Blomeke has been awarded the Navy Achieve- ment Medal, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Navy Marksmanship CPistolJ Medal. He is married to the former Kaye Swift of Cecil, Alabama. They and their son, John, reside in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
