As any BOWEN sailor - or any sailor on any warship, for that matter - knows, there is no such thingas a Utypical day at sea. With every shift of the wind, with every change in the swells, it seems, comes a new or subtly different evolution, or lesson, or frus- tration, or joy. With this in mind, let's examine a typical day underway: 1. BOWEN underway in the Mediterra- nean Sea, as seen from her LAMPS helicopter. ' 2. GMTSN McNeill paints the inside of the ASROC launcher with yellow prim- er, following an ASROC firing. 5. SN Williams stands what clearly was for him yet another tedious bridge watch. 4. The sun sets over Gibraltar and over another day at sea during BOWEN's lnchop to the Sixth Fleet. -
