PETER, BEWARE! Peter Beware , a comedy in three acts, was presented by the Senior class on February 24, 1948, under the direction of Miss Hehr . Peter Barrett will inherit several millions from his de- ceased Uncle, provided he doesn't marry within a year. If he does, Eunice, his half-sister, gets the money. Peter doesn't know this, but Eunice does. She promptly puts a bevy of good- looking girls on Peter's trail, hoping he'll be snared by one of them before the year is up. Poor Peter is pursued by damsels until he throws his hat in the door before he enters. Then, in comes Melinda, unspoiled and utterly adorable. She knows nothing of the will--and Eunice's ruse. Peter and Melinda are made for each other, and it doesn't take them long to find it out. Then Peter discovers why all the girls are paying so much atten- tion to him. He even suspects Melinda, and tells her off as a heart- less little gold-digger. But Flo, the negro maid, does a cupid act that brings down the house on a play that has a grand array of youthful parts. Cast: Peter and Melinda, a crafty Eunice, her sponging relative, and her hen-pecked Archie, the irrepressible Flo, a crafty stenographer, the three charmers whom Eunice engages, a Hollywood agent, and Sa.rn, Peter's likeable friend. PROPHECY We find Ervin studying for the ministerial works. We always knew you'd be a minister, but never did we guess that Doreen would be the organist. Now wait a minute students. Let us tell you of the lives of our former bosom friends and fellow classmates. Then maybe you'll understand why we dreaded to graduate and also why we want to go back to good old Bowdon High School. As we look into the future we find Delores busily typing a newspaper report covering the latest headlines. Oh yes, Ernie, we knew you'd make it with a soap-box and your gift of gab. You could start any political movement. We find Marly in his den with his basketball medals at his right, Nedra at his left, and his typewriter at his feet. It's twenty years and we find Tommy still on his knees: Mary Ellen hasn't made up her mind whether she'd rather teach or sell eggs. Phyllis, so help us, if you don't stop riding around in the red truck it's going to be a dead giveaway and you might as well give upg he still has to sell gas another 10 years before he receives the premium. Darlene hasn't quite made up her mind yet, but we do believe she is con- sidering the trucking business. Darwin, how you worked and slaved at your typewriter: well, a good dish washer always comes in handy, but we always did say you should have spent more time at Home Economics than on typing. Norman must have started something when he took the part of a popular man in the Senior Class Play. The girls are still flocking around him. Oh, we see it now, you've started a knitting class. We find Audrie at her beauty parlor and she has a helpful husband: well, forevermore, Marvin did get her, and guess what he does for a living ? He plays the guitar and mouth organ while Audrie sets hair and manicures nails. The song that started their love was Doodlie Doo. Okay, Berny, we thought you'd end up in Minnesota, but never once did we realize that you'd learn to play the accordian that lay behind the sofa. We see Lois working in a drug store the rest of her life waiting on jerks. Of course she gets all the news and passes it on to us. QSince when, Marvin Heil also seems to take up a lot of her spare time--,but I believe that is love.
