CLASS HISTORY OF THE SENIORS OF 1948 In September, l94-4, nineteen freshmen started in Bowdon High School. This group consisted of eight boys: james Kunz, Marvin Hirsch, Marlin johnson, Duane johnson, Norman Schaubert, Darwin Schaubert, Ervin Wollman, Ernest Hoffg and eleven girls: Phyllis johnson, Mary Ellen johnson, Darlene Krueger, Bernadine Thorstenson, Ruth Mathre, Grace Mathre, Delores Bennetto, Adele Golder, LaVonn Tetz, Mildred Haux, and Audrey Farnumb. During the term we lost james Kunz, Marvin Hirsch, and Adele Golder, This left a total of sixteen to enter the second year together. Entering our second year all enrolled with the exception of Ruth and Grace Mathre, Mildred Haux, and Audrey Farnuzrng this left only twelve. We gained two girls: Lois Krause, who entered from Heimdal, North Dakota, and Audrie Schmidt, who entered from Puyallup High, Puyallup, Washington. LaVonn Tetz moved away during the summer. Beginning our junior year, Carol Nelson and Iva jean Reutter from Chasely started, but they both withdrew before the end of the year. During the summer, one of our classmates, Duane johnson, lost his life in a tragic car accident. This left only twelve of us to receive diplomas. The ones to receive diplomas are: Delores Bennetto Ernest Hoff, Marlin johnson, Mary Ellen johnson, Phyllis johnson, Lois Krause, Darlene Krueger, Darwin Schaubert, Norman Schaubert, Audrie Schniidt, Bernadine Thorstenson, and Ervin Wollman. During basketball games in our junior and part of our Senior year, we sold pop, bars, potato chips, and gum. This money went towards our senior skip-day. The outstanding event of this year was our Senior play, Peter, Beware ! which proved to be a success. Our class officers are: President-Mary Ellen-johnson, Vice President-Marlin johnson, Secretary-Treasurer-Phyllis johnson. Now that we are leaving school, we are wondering where our paths of life may lead. Whatever we do, we all want to be successful.
