SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We, the Class of l9ll6,began our earlier training in var- ious schoolsg therefore few of us have come through the eight grades together. None of the class graduated from the Bowden School as eighth graders, but we began as Freshman here. Our first years of school were not spent together but each of us tried to grasp the fundamentals for a foundation to later history. we all managed to make the eighth grade up to standard. The freshman year started with an enrollment of eleven: Marie Anderson, Russell Buchmiller, Garry Hart, Marvin John- son, Bernice Kleinsasser, LeRoy Koenig, Lois Lester, Paul Mathre, June Mielke, Norman Remboldt, and Loren Untersehen Later in the year we decreased to eight members with the loss of Garry, Bernice, and Marvin. The outstanding event of our freshmangwnr was hntiation. The boys spent the day dressed as girls and the girls spent the day dressed as boys. In the evening the high school was invited to a party given by the Sophomores, at which we fur- nished the entertainment. Beginning our Sophomore year, the class remained the same. We all worked hard and soon found ourselves Juniors. Alette Hoefs and Edna Welppert, who attended school in Chaseley, became members of our class as Juniors. Shortly af- ter school began Lois Lester left. Several members of the class were represented on the boys' and girls' basket ball team. During the summer Paul Mathre moved away. This year we began in earnest to make history. With the beginning of the Senior year Marvin Johnson a- gain joined the class. The outstanding event of the year was our Senior Class Play, HHere Comes the Pr1nce,N which was pre- sented very successfully. The receipts from the play will be used for our skip day. Those who will receive diplomas at the May Commencement are: Marie Anderson, Russell Buchmiller, Alette Hoefs,Marvin Johnsong LeRoy Koenig, June Mielke, Norman Remboldt, Loren Unterseher, and Edna Weippert. Class officers are: President, Marvin Johnsong Vice-pre- sident, Edna weippertg and Secretary-treasurer, Alette Hoefs. Leaving school,we wonder where our paths of life may lead. For the boys the immediate prospect will be induction -into the armed forces.
