WILLIAM EDWARD Billie JAKLE was born .August 7, 1922, at Bowdon, N.D. Billie attended high school in Bowdon and worked on the farm until his enlistment. He entered service in February,l940, and trained with the 164th division and saw considerable service in the Pacific War Zone. He was reported missing in action on january 7, 1943, on Guadalcanal, but he was not officially declared dead until May 25, 1944. Billie was married to Glyniece Unterse- her, who survives him. M., PRIVATE FIRST CLASS TERRY JACK MARTIN was born February 4, 1922, at Bo- wdon, North Dakota, He attended high school in Bowdon, and also went to Wahpeton Sci- ence School for one year. He was employed in the Pudget Sound Navy Yard at Bremer- ton, Washington before entering the service November 10, 1943, at Ft. Lewis, Washing- ton. He was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, Atlanta Ordnance Sch- ool, Georgia, and Camp Beale California, He went overseas in july, 1944, and was st- ationed in New Caledonia and New Hebrides. He was killed in action on Okinawa April 21, 1945. He is survived by his wife, from Gray, lo- wa, whom he married in October, 1943, and a year old daughter, Connie joy, whom he never saw? his mother-Mrs, Mary Martin,of Bowdon. Three brothers--Manley, Wilber, and James of Bowdong five sisters--Ramona Adrienne, and Doreen of Bowdon. Mrs. Ver- non Dwelle of Jamestown, and Geraldine of Garrison.
