JV! Varsity Chee The Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerlines were very close to each other this year. They all coordinated ideas to help one another look and perform their best. At Cheer Camp, the Varsity line, with Wendy Davies as Captian and Mary Welty as Co Captain, took three Superior awards. They also picked up the Spirit Stick, this being quite an honor. During the football and basketball seasons, the Varsity line kept the players going by making them spirit buttons and posters to promote team and school enthusiasm. The Junior Varsity cheerline also contributed to promoting spirit for the J.V. teams by bringing doughnuts for the players and even treating them to pizza one night. All Superiors and one excellent award were given to the J.V. line at camp - this was out of the ordinary for the years past. Captain Kim Spano and Co-Captain Kris Libuskowski were chosen by the line as leaders. The Homecoming game was very special for both the cheerlines. They all got to cheer as a united line, and each girl made or brought something for all the other members to show her love and gratefulness for the others. lj The J.V. Cheerline, from top: Joyce Chaney, Patty Buggy, Jennifer Johnson, Kris Libuskowski, Kim Spano, and Jennifer Johnson. 23 Kim Scaccia, the Eagle Mascot, yells out a chant to get the crowd rowdy. 31 During the Homecoming halftime, Jennifer Johnson balances Michelle Campbell on her shoulders, 4J Wild as she is, Mary Welty jumps to proclaim her excitement for the team.5J The Varsity Cheerline, from top: Lisa Martinsen, Chris Simon, Cindy Trejo, Mary Welty, Jeff Tease, Karen Gill, Judi Kerr, Toni Manriquez, Rick Quevedo, Wendy Davies, and Michelle Campbell. 6J Toni Manriquez, Joyce Chaney, Judy Kerr, Kris Libuskowski, Eagle - Kim Scaccia, and Kim S ano excitedly await the entrance ofthe Eagle team.

MatmaidsfSpiritline With a number of ten the matmard line promoted spirit non stop during the wrestling season The line started the year out with a little lag due to their questionable existence Even without the chance and experience from camp they learned the importance of enthusiasm and encouragement and struggled to teach others Inspxte of the distant traveling flat tires running out of gas and bus trouble the line managed to make it there on time to cheer on the wrestlers The girls cared for the guys by preparing pep notes clever posters and boxes of rnunchles for the distant invitationals Matmaid seniors Momca McAdams and Maureen O Connell This was the first year for the Spiritline. The Spiritline is a new line formed this year to support the girls in sports. The new line consists of mostly freshmen, with a few sophomores. This year was mainly a trial and error time, and was handled under the advision of Mrs. Moore. Along with cheering the girls on to victory, they provide care boxes for them on away games.
