This year the International Thesbian Society was reactivated. Mr. Lizotte proudly took on the position of advisor, and set the organization on a prestigious level. Admittance into the society was based on a points system. Points are acquired according to past experience relating to the drama department. Not only performance on stage, but also working back stage are awarded points. QFor example: working with the lights, make-up, or stage crew.J The Hiking club was started this year for anyone interested in hiking the outdoors. Student Government initiated the club and set a goal of hiking Havasupai Canyon. Approximately two hikes per month, either to Squaw Peak or South Mountain, were followed through, and Havasupai was endeavored on April 22-25.

Rain, rain, go awa To much dismay of the art students and Mrs. Mascarelli fthe art teacherj, the Art Room had many leaks. Many attempts were made to fix the holes in the ceiling, but none seemed to hold. So, throughout the school year, students took turns holding umbrellas while drawing, or simply holding buckets to avoid wet puddles on the floor. But at times, the rain actually aided the students in their projects, such as keeping their molding clay moist while trying to form it - if they sat in the right place. The Art Room students and Mrs. Mascarelli were just getting used to the leaks and the umbrellas when the roof and ceiling were finally repaired. But it just happened that the rain stopped at this time also. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be efficient! lj Mrs. Mascarelli enjoys working on her sculpture project of jesus Christ crowned with thorns. 23 Ernie Soto waits patiently for the next drop of water to fall into his rain bucket. 35 Mrs. Mascarelli and Ernie Soto take advantage of the fact that the leak has temporarily stopped. 45 Kelli Howard happily holds an umbrella to keep dry from one of the many leaks in the art room.
