One of the major changes occurred in the sports program. All freshman sports were dropped because of a lack of funding. Consequently, if a freshman wanted to play a sport, they had to tryout for the I.V. teams. The one advantage to this change was that by having freshmen on the I.V. teams, they could combine their talent and increase the possibility of having a better team. Academically, there were minor changes made in the class selections. Both the Math and History departments made alterations in the amount of required courses needed to graduate. An extra year of math was added to the schedule, affecting only the class of 1985 and those following. World History, previously an elective, was changed to a required course during the freshman year.
