During the summer we purchased Braves Field and renamed it Boston University Field . . . Dr. Wendell Yeo and Dr. Robert Oxnam were appointed Vice-Presidents . . . Dr. Duncan Macdonald became Dean of the Grad School, Dr. Linwood Chase, Dean of Ed, Dr. Howard Thurman, Dean of the Chapel, Dr. Shields Warren, Chairman of the Trustees, Dr. Melvin Brod- shaug, Dean of SPRC . . . The Theatre Division was transferred from the jurisdiction of SPRC to the College of Music, set up a council of Participating Directors, and moved into the newly acquired Esquire Theatre . . . The Uni- versity was shocked and greatly mourned the loss of John Pappas, Ed Senior, who was fatally injured in the Syracuse football game . . . 875 hopefuls rushed 28 social fraternities and sororities . . .
