A Message From The Captain l want to congratulate every man serving on the BORDELON during the cruise depicted herein for your outstanding performance of duty. This is not only my opinion. The results - winning the battle efficiency plaque and the many times we have received well done - speak for themselves. I like the way we have worked together. The work has never been easy but the lessons learned and our ac- complishments have been well worth the effort. ln the years to come l hope this cruise book will remind you not only of the good liberties we have made together but of the part we have played in the fight for freedom. Whether or not you continue to serve our country and the world in the Navy, you have already found for yourselves a small but solid place in history by your service in that unique Friendly Fleet , the United States Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean.
