DEDI CA T I ON The Class of 1969 dedicates this log to and MR. ROBERT PIPER, who showed us the direction when we didn't know where to IIUIII. 2 MRS. DIANE CROCKER Whose helpful imagination and ideas made this book possible, ADMINISTRATION 8: FACULTY ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY -1' , -- . ,..s swf' 1 5. . 4 FOSTER M. SHIBLES Univ. of Me. Superintendent B. S. and M. Ed. Congratulations, Class of 1968. As you leave Boothbay Region High School many thoughts come to your mind I am sure. You may regard these thoughts as experience which have been a part of the educational experience you arc about to complete. May I urge each of you to continue your quest for knowl- edge each day of your lives. Certainly the future rests with today's planners. Each of you is equal to the responsibility and challenge it presents. Foster M. Shibles Superintendent of Schools VAUGHAN HATHAWAY Bates College Principal A . B. Ancient History Univ. of Me. Now that you are ready to graduate I hope you will not consider this the end of your educational endeavors. As a matter of fact you are just commencing to face the realities of life. With what you have achieved here we hope you are ready to meet the challenges that lie ahead. You may be sure that all of us here at B.R.l-I. S. will continue to be interested in you and will assist you in any- way we can. ROBERT J. PIPER Univ. of Me. Guidance Counselor San Diego State College According to all the dusty texts I have on the proper functions of a counselor, I should avoid providing last words of wisdom or advice for they are seldom heard nor acted upon. What follows then, is not an inspirational message to you seniors but rather a borrowed poem reflecting my feel- ings on your last carefree days as high school students. Look where you are leaping, giddy crickets, you might land and split these emcralds of dew. Uapanese haiku by Issai 4 MARJORIE MCGLAUFLIN Grad. Study--U. of Mc. I listened to you talking with me, asking me questions and I just could say: Thank you, yes, or just smile because really I did not know, where I was stepping ony really! I can't tell you what troubles I had!! But after that, I became to know that everybody was so happy to help me in everything. My English is becoming better day-to-day and I just feel at home. It is hard to me, to write down and sum up on these lines all what l - want to tell you. Maybe this unique word: Thanks, Thanks to all of you for being so helpful to me, for the fun that we've had together, and thanks to A . F .S . , for this wonderful experience I am having. This is the night in which the parents come to school to see how their child Qchildrenj are pro- gressing. Members of the club made bulletin boards and acted as guides. The night proved very successful. In the near future, the F.T.A. chapter is planning a field trip to some nearby university or college. We will be accompanied by Mrs. Hildegarde Barlow, the club advisor, and Mr. Rober Piper, the guidance counselor. We are also looking forward to Mrs. Christine Velonis, first year teacher in the Practical Arts Program, speak- ing to us on her experiences. We would like to give the Boothbay Region Teacher's Association our thanks for paying our dues which made us members of the state and national associations. 48 A THLE TICS FRONT ROW--T. Skud, B.
