46 THE LOG ORCHESTRA The Orchestra adds zest to the inside per- formances put on by the high school and grades. We have had an unusually enjoyable and suc- cessful year. We number about forty-five at present, including the grades. The group has made several appearances this year under the capable direction of Mrs. Katherine Lewis. We played for the PTA, the Senior Play, a Christmas performance put on by the grades, the Kenniston Prize Speaking The annual Pop Concert was held on March 28. The proceeds financed the band and orchestra's trip to the State Music Festival in Lewiston on May 3. Last year the orchestra received excellent rating in Portland, we hope to do as Well this year. In June we will play for Class Day and for the Commencement Day Program. ESTELLE TOWNSEND. '52 Contest, and the Grades Music Festival.
