THE LOG CHEERLEADING This year has been quite a suc- cessful year for the cheerleaders of B. H. H. S., with Mrs. McGary taking over as coach. Just before the football season got into full swing, all those who wanted to try out, met in the Home Economics Lab., with Mrs. McGary and Mrs. Keene. All the veterans from last year: Barbara Arabas, Peggy Kelley, Nancy Brewer, Joan Teague, Rita Spinney and Nancy Dodge were chosen, with a few new cheerleaders added: Faye Burn- ham, Peggy Pierce, Ruth Wheldon, and Betty L'Hostis. We had two or three new cheers, t'Victory, The Weather Cheer, and 'iPep Cheer. Also had a few sideline cheers. When the basketball season roll- ed in, we lost two of our girls, Betty and Barbara. To take their places were Anna Lorrain and Mar- jorie Pilman. Peggy Pierce also dropped out. Rita Spinney was voted in as head cheerleader and Brenda Sy- monds was back again as mascot. We feel this has been a very suc- cessful year for us, as a group. PEGGY KELLEY, '52
