The Debating Club was formed early in the school year. Mr. McDonough took some of the members to Bates College to watch d e b a t e s and extemporaneous speeches. Some valuable points were gained from our trip to Bates College. Robert Alley, Peshine Tomer, and June Peabody represented the Affirmative side of the question, While Janice Newell, Marilyn Proc- tor and Christine Dickinson repre- sented the Negative side. On February 29, Yarmouth Jun- ior High School came to Booth- bay Harbor and defeated us in a de- bate. Boothbay Harbor represented the Negative Side and Yarmouth represented the Aflirmative side. We have had a good time in the Debating Club this year, and Mr. McDonough has proven to be a valuable coach. JANFCE NXEWELL. '52
