THE LOG BOYS' BASKETBALL '52 COACH LLOYD CAPEN Starting with a nucleus of six Seniors the hopes of Boothbay Harbor High's basketball team were high when the team met with new coach Lloyd Capen for the first time. The boys played their first game against Brunswick away and lost that and the next game with Lincoln ariscotta. The Seahawks then got moving and lost only two morezlt t Dam- he rest of the season. The Seahawks racked up double wins over Waldobo 0, Wis- casset, Thomaston, and Camden, winning once over Lincoln, nd the Alumni. The boys also defeated Lincoln in the League play-off. T, ey lost to Richmond, Winthrop, Lincoln and Brunswick. The Seahawks played most of the season starting Dick Reed a d Dave Abbott at the forwards, Paul Abbott at center, Herb Winslow, Millie Mar- shall and Norman Stone at guards. Although these men carried most of the burden throughout the season the others on the team deserve ention also. It was the second team that provided the starter with their o position at practice, and kept them in condition for the games. No matter hat the game was the Seahawks came up with a man to fill in the hig scorers spot. The Hrst of the season it was Dick Reed as high scorer, Dav Abbott took over at Camden and Herb Winslow scored his high at Th maston, while Paul Abbott was high man in the play-off. ' After losing their first league game to Lincoln the Seahawlls swept the rest of their league games including the play-off to win the fir t Knox- Lincoln League Basketball Championship in B. H. H.
