UTILITIES SEMINAR Student Council Hops Into Easter Each year Potomac Edison, C P Telephone, and AT T Communications present a utilities seminar which is designed to give students, educators, and administrators a closer look at local utilities. This year’s event was held at the Sheraton Inn on March 28th with seven students from Mr. Carl Brunner’s advanced physics class and four teachers representing our school. These people were Below: Barry Scott, Bob Falck, Dave Ward, David Hawkins, Tim Morrow, John Scrivener, Tom Kline, Mr. Gene Kerns, Mr. Eugene Swain, and Mr. Del Schleuss. Michelle Staubs and Mrs. Pat Lemkuhl were also present due to the fact that Michelle was commissioned by these utility companies to paint a picture for the guest of honor. She received $100 for her efforts. The companies presented very interesting mini-sessions dealing with their new technology and used demonstrations involving lasers, fiber optics, and the new line of computers to create a better cooperation between education and utilities. Michelle Staubs and Colonel Ralph Albertazzie 26 — What's HOPPening? Wondering who had more fun — the kindergartners or the big kids — was the big question which needed to be answered during the student council’s Easter egg hunt at the elementary school. Held on April 2nd, over sixty 5-year olds were treated to a few hours of egghunting, game playing, refreshments, and of course, a visit from the Easter bunny. Ann Ellis, Dawn Hammond, Donna Smith, Fina Conde, Michelle Kable — an Easter treat. Donna Smith is all ears! Michelle Kable and pal. What's she doing to him?

What Was Significant . . . Besides The Ides Hola de Espana Several Boonsboro High School students who were seeking adventure in a foreign country boarded a jet at the Kennedy International Airport on April 5th to begin a ten day excursion to Spain. The students toured many museums and famous cities such as Madrid and Toledo, took a boat ride to Africa, attended a live bullfight, ate squid, and relaxed among the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. All in all, the trip proved to be a unique educational experience even though some unplanned incidences occurred, such as the bombing of the Escorial, a palace on the outskirts of Madrid where they were staying at the time. Spanish students from Boonsboro who attended included Kim Albert, Stephanne Gouker, Todd Easterday, Danny McClure, Ellie Shinham, Alice Wright, Kenny Smith, Chuck Palmer, Heather McKegg. Julie Emanuelson, Jackie Kerns, Shelli Lewis, Jeff Snoots, Eric Boyer, Shannon Mullendore, and Cheri Grove. What would a trip to Spain be without seeing a bullfight? About March 15th Of March?
