Art Class Takes D.C. By Storm Could you imagine keeping this crew in control? Dawn Sewalt, Kelly Lowery. Cory McKegg, Bill Tucker, Jill MacMichael, Dave Ward. Paula Sullivan. Tammy Staley. Jami Huffer. Brian Hawkins, Mike Flippen A brave teacher, Mrs. Lemkuhl, tackled the challenge of arranging a field trip for her art classes. Planning the excursion to celebrate the first day of spring on March 20th, forty-seven students left for Washington to start a day of fun filled learning. The group left BHS on the L L Coach Lines at 8:30 am and arrived an hour and a half later at the National Cathedral. Once the tour of the Cathedral was complete, the students were on their own to tour the mall grounds. D.C. will never be the same! Students took in the different buildings of the Smithsonian, or ventured inside the Washington Monument, while others just relaxed on a park bench enjoying the first day of spring. The day went fast and as it came to an end, and the last student dragged his weary body onto the bus, everyone was anxious to get home and also to just kick-off his shoes! The trip proved exhausting for big guys Joel Wolf and Jim Seabright. Right: Dwayne Harold. Frank Owens, Matt Debaugh. Sean Lawson, Randy Kretzer, Mike Keller. Lisa Brining, Lisa Shaft. FFA Enjoys Mt. Vernon George Washington is a very important figure in the FFA and is often thought of as their “founding father. The FFA traveled to Mt. Vernon on February 20th to see where George Washington lived and to tour the land he set aside for a supply center. The supply center displayed FFA's history and also showed how their FFA jackets were constructed. Since their field trip was on George Washington’s birthday, they attended a ceremony and placed flowers on Washington's grave. It was a great experience for FFA chapter members who joined together from Maryland and Virginia. All-County Chorus Forty-five members of the Boonsboro chorus participated in the All-County Chorus. We're All Matched-Up! The Student Council computer matches were delivered to BHS on Valentine’s Day just in time for us to make sure we could share that special day with just the right person. Many people got a kick out of who their number one match was; like Kelly Weaver, a senior, matched with freshman, Buddy Best — imagine that! Now as for Matt Ptacek and Susan Reese, they liked the idea of being matched. No matter who you were matched with; short, tall, chubby, or thin, it was all in fun. Susan Reese and Matt Ptacek are matched up. Kelly Weaver and Buddy Best cute couple?” Consider Yourself Lucky This Saint Patrick's Day! Service with a smile, compliments of Mitesh Kothari. Mrs. Judith Peisen, sophomore class advisor, has been instrumental in promoting class spirit and community involvement. Just for the fun of it, the sophomores held their second annual St. Patty’s Day dance. Below: The sophomore decorating committee put their hot air to use in filling balloons. Amy Waters, Cassandra Smith. Shelli Lewis. Karen Coleman, Paul Kauf-mann. Is Terri Bolton bothering you, Jason Pennella? Don't ask Eric Boyer to help you. he's too busy!
