Faculty Kids Enjoy FBLAYule Party The Future Business Leaders of America along with advisor Mrs. Yvonne Wilson held a Christmas party for thirty children of faculty members and some of their own young friends on December 22. Deck The Halls - Christmas Is Around The Corner Christmas spirit filled the hallways of BHS early this holiday season. The student council sponsored the annual door decoration contest on December 10th. The race began as homerooms worked fiercely to produce the most unique door. After the last stocking was hung and the final DEAR SANTA” letter attached, the corridors grew silent. Mr. Robeson and Mr. Hawkins faced the tough task of deciding which door was best. Miss Sue Mellott's junior homeroom, A-09, inspired by the creative talents of Tim Baker, was this year’s winner. Each student received free ice cream at lunch. Here We Come A-Caroling Once again the Boonsboro Singers contributed much to the Old Tyme Christmas in Harper’s Ferry by caroling through the decorated streets and shops. Later, they performed for the Boonsboro Lions Club dinner meeting on December 20th. The choral group finished a productive and busy Christmas season by singing traditional carols throughout various communities. Dawn Hammond tried to wedge making Christmas presents between school and basketball practice. Jingle Bell Rock Dancing to the latest hits, having a picture taken on Santa’s lap, or just socializing with friends were a few of the options available to those who attended the Drama Club’s Christmas Dance on Friday, December 21st. The music was loud, the snacks delicious, and another fun-filled and memorable evening was had by all. Chorus members Joy Thomas and Melissa Palm don robes for caroling in Harper’s Ferry. Christmas dance disc jockey Patrick Sweeney just can’t resist Kara Kuenys’ compliments on a job well done. Tim Morrow and Mary Baxley find the drama club Christmas dance provides the opportunity to meet other high school students.

Dec. 21st Marks the Beginning of Xmas After the last bell sounded on December 21st, students rushed out of the building to begin the Christmas holidays. Wrapping presents, making cookies, and decorating the tree with ornaments were just a few activities that students pursued to prepare for the big day. James Sweeney (left) busily wraps presents as older brother Patrick (above) helps his dad set up the tree. Snow Let's Students Sleep Late A blanket of snow and a blast of cold air allowed Washington County students to stay in bed four more days during the month of January. Even though these few extra days gave pupils a chance to breathe from the hectic January season, the bad news came when they found out that a couple of these days were to be made up during the Easter holidays. Loft: Eric Boyer’s snapshot backfired. Randy Thompson Captures Chorus Honors Boonsboro High School is honored to have Randy Thompson as a memoer of the All-Eastern States Chorus. Randy, who has been singing since he was four, was notified during mid-January that he had been accepted as a member of this distinguished chorus. Randy feels that his experience with the Boonsboro Singers has definitely helped him with other organizations. He was quoted as saying, Mrs. Kennedy is a really great teacher. She has bent over backwards to help me.” A big difference, Randy feels, in singing in a larger chorus is that the people are there strictly for music, whereas the Boonsboro Chorus is more for enjoyment. As for furthering his career, Randy already has auditions set up at colleges. He would like to study classical music. Last year he was chosen as a member of the All-State Chorus. He has participated in many singing competitions and enjoys singing at basketball games, assemblies, and churches. Left: Randy Thompson is on his way to a fantastic music career.
