Boonsboro Band Struts in Tradition as Queens Reign Waiting patiently in unusually hot October weather and 100% wool uniforms, the Boonsboro High School Warrior Band handled pressure well, capturing their fourth consecutive first-place win in the 60th Annual Alsatia Mummer’s Parade. Two BHS girls, FFA Queen Sherry Otzel-berger and Homecoming Queen Tammi Kefauver, rode atop floats and represented our school at the parade. Both the band and these two young ladies certainly contributed much pride to everyone in the community. The Warrior Band flows through the judges' stand Dynamic Drum-majors. Peisen Says, Win or Anything Goes! The Student Council's fall activity Almost Anything Goes” left the spectators wondering whether the 6-member competitive BHS clubs’ teams were participating in sports events or auditioning for a Barnum and Bailey Clown routine. The hilarity in watching embarrassed students plop their bottoms on balloons or in witnessing relatively mature people crawl behind each other with hands hooked to ankles was just part of the enjoyment of the day! The sophomore class placed first with the varsity cheerleaders and the Chieftan Staff following second and third, respectively. Events included a 3-legged race, shoe relay, jump through the stick relay, tray race, and an obstacle course. Almost anything went in the Almost Anything Goes day, which was a smashing successful, and fun-filled event. ANYTHING GOES CHAMPIONS were the sophomore class — Mrs. Peisen. advisor; Darren Stotlemyer. Skip Reeder, Rusty Moser. Roman Barnhart. Tessy Fuss, Chris Clark, Marsha Nelson. THE CHIEFTAIN TEAM, Dawn Sewalt. Kris Easterday. Lisa Bradley. Scott Bitner, Joel Wolf, and Jimmy Seabright scheduled an early practice. Kendra Seburn and Christy Nuice kept scores for team events

Easterday Selected Player Of The Year Monninger — All-Area Linebacker Annually, the volleyball coaches select an All-Washington County team. This year honorable mention went to Monica Daniel, with first team holding spots for our two senior co-captains, Kris Easterday and Dawn Sewalt. This year the coaches also named a Player of the Year”. Kris Easterday was unanimously selected. In addition to Kristi’s excellence, Senior Ray Monningergained an honor that only a few have achieved. Ray was named All-Area Linebacker by Dawn Sewalt and Kris Easterday both plan to continue their volleyball careers in college. Ray Monninger was cool enough to be named All-Area linebacker. Weather . . . Summer Hangs Around During the month of November we experienced excessively warm weather. Rather than bundling up for winter’s prologue, we found ourselves wearing shorts and tees. As much as we were enthralled by the warm weather, we were also caught in a series of downpours. The leaky chorus room felt the brunt of November the most. Right: Troy Brawner enjoys tennis during November. Far Right: Sharon Saunders. Tina Smith, and Kendra Rohrer sport a cool summer jersey. Lower Right: Robyn Harrison. Dee Casto, Frances Miller. Mrs. Paula Kennedy, Shawn Tucker, Kathy Albritton, Kris Roody, Jill MacMichael are singing in the rain. I Kate Jarmy, Steph Ridenour, and Susan Phillips 12 — Outstanding Occurences Bill Everhart. Jackie Kerns, and Skip Reeder enjoy balmy weather.
