Coach Lewis Retires After 25 Years — Clayton Anders Named Successor After 25 years of dedication and service to BHS as assistant coach and for the past eight years as head football coach, Don Lewis marked the end of an era in BHS sports with his retirement. Coach Lewis led Boonsboro football to many victories, suffered his share of defeats but always came out a winner and proud of his boys. Coach Lewis installed character in his players, always remembering they were people first and players second. BHS bids farewell to a hardworking teacher and a dedicated coach. School Opened to Community On December 2, faculty, students, parents, and interested persons enjoyed opi house at BHS. A presentation by the Boonsboro Singers along with a slide presen-tion and delicious refreshments highlighted the day. Mr. Gene Kerns and Mr. Imre Jarmy Mr. and Mrs. Holtz meet Mr. Haines Boonsboro Band Performs For Thousands At Students from Washington County’s seven high schools strutted their stuff on October 2nd in the 8th Annual Showcase of Marching Bands at School Stadium. The program was coordinated by County Supervisor of Music, John Fignar, Jr. This year, BHS was the host band which meant they would play the National Anthem and be the last band to perform. Boonsboro's drum cadence brought all county bands onto the field, several thousand students, parents, and friends supported the young musicians. 8 — Etcetera .

Curt Langley. Brian Stine and Jim Seabright led the psyched Warriors. The success of Spirit Week '84 ended with a pep rally honoring the court and with the Juniors winning the Spirit Stick. Shane Blankenship received a manequin leg for winning the best legs contest, held by the cheerleaders. Ray Monninger and Brian Stine tied for collecting the most footballs on hush-up day, and received free dance tickets. Highlighting Spirit Week was the game Friday and the crowning of our Queen. After voting, the senior class chose the top ten girls: Mindy Auldridge, Sharon Baker, Dawn Best, Tina Churchey, Kris Easterday, Tammi Kefauver, Cory McKegg, Donna Smith, and Michelle Taulton. The ten were narrowed down to just five; Dawn, Kris, Tammi, Cory and Michelle. The Spirit Week excitement climaxed with the halftime festivities. Each princess was driven onto the field, and escorted to center-field by her father. The crowd grew silent until the 1984 Homecoming Queen, Tammi Kefauver, was named. The evening was topped off by a win over Walkersville, and a dance held in the cafeteria honoring the queen and her court with music by Chantage. Picture Perfect! Drama Club Selects Musical - Pajama Game Vo-Tech Seniors Seek Skills The senior vo-tech students learned special trades and skills to ensure them of advantages in the job market. Many were placed in industry as apprentices during their senior year while others perfected job skills by practicing on visitors to the center.
