The formal groups on pages 28 thru 36 picture the various student organizations that help make our school life so interesting and rewarding. BOYS’ VARSITY BASKETBALL _ Ourfi ne team split even this year, winning I 0 games and losing I 0. They showed fine sportsmanship and teamwork in all these games, ranking second in the county. Let s give Coach Keyser a big hand. JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL — The JV's gave all their opponents a run for their money. Coach Lewis put together a hard fighting team. The final tally was I 0 victories and 8 losses. 28 GIRLS’ VARSITY BASKETBALL — We are proud of our girls who ranked second in Washington County. They showed skill and coordination in all games. They won I 0 games, losing only 4. F1ELDBALL — Our girls showed fine sportsmanship and enthusiasm. The squad, com posed of many new girls, promises excellent results next year. 29 SOCCER — The soccer team provided many thrills and moments of suspense for spectators this year. They fought hard, racking up 5 wins, 4 loses, and one tie. BASEBALL — As we go to press, our team has started the season right by winning over St. James 1 3-2. We hope they will keep up the good work. 30 GIRLS' SOFTBALL — This looks like a promising season. Go get em. girls! BAND — The school band has been impressive both in number and quality. It furnishes music for assemblies, parades, and other special events. 31 SENIOR GLEE CLUB — The Senior Glee Club provides good music for the school and the public. They have sung for the PTA and Christmas programs and for the Choral Festival at College Park. JUNIOR GLEE CLUB — Our Junior Glee Club is composed of select voices from the junior high. It has contributed much to our assemblies and other programs. 32 STUDENT COUNCIL — The Student Council is the governing body of our school. This organization promotes good relationship between the faculty and the student body. We can be very proud of their work. STAR STAFF — This staff is doing a fine job of furnishing our student body with news, features, and sports articles concerning our various activities. The Star is published six times a year. 33 FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA — Our Future Teachers of America Club gives prospective teachers an opportunity to become acquainted with the teaching profession. Its members serve as substitute teachers. This club has sponsored many worthwhile activities. AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS — This committee is a great help to both students and teachers. They show many interesting and educational films, giving its members experience in aiding classroom instruction. 34 FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA — FHA members have many good opportunities to learn the principles of homemaking. They will be well prepared for their future occupations. FUTURE NURSES OF AMERICA — Although this is a relatively new club, it has accomplished much during the school year. Its purpose is to encourage and instruct girls interested in any phase of the nursing profession. 35 FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA — The FFA Club trains our boys in the modern methods of farming, which they are able to put into practice on our school farm and on their own farms. JUNIOR FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA — This organization is for ninth grade agriculture boys.
