nncipai s ord OP 1G ear DOUGLAS M. BIVENS Principal It is a privilege and a pleasure to use the 1955 issue of THE HI-LIGHTER to communicate directly with the faculty, school employees, students and citizens of the community. This pictorial report is especially designated to interpret the year’s record of the overall educational program and services of Boonsboro High School, and the wide range of faculty and student interests and activities. In pictorial, graphic and verbal form with an attractive layout, it serves as a documentary of the highlights of the current academic year to show the readers how Boonsboro High School people live, think and act. The report relates directly to the present schooling, contemporary environment and experiences and future work and careers of our young men and women. In the next pages of this student publication, you will note descriptive sketches; you will see illustrations of the personalities and feature events which directly contributed to the improvement and advancement of the educational enterprise and community culture and which had a desirable Influence on the continued growth and development of teen-agers and professional staff members during the current academic year. Indeed, this has been a busy and fruitful year! I point with pride and appreciation to the time, energy, thoi ght, wholehearted cooperation, earnest support and unfailing loyalty which my colleagues readily exercised in the helpful guidance, training and education of our young men and women. 2 Douglas M. Bivens (S)
